The Chinese use…

The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word ‘crisis.’ One brush stroke stands for danger, the other for
opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger, but recognize the opportunity. – Leading RE trends

What is Detroit Missing?

In 2013, there was talk about development plans to encourage transportation options in the heart of motor city. We can finally make this vision a reality in the new year to come.

The M-1 Rail is planned to run 3.3 miles along Woodward, stretching from Grand Boulevard in New Center to Congress Street in Detroit. The vision of 2014 is to finalize the intergovernmental agreements that will permit the construction along Woodward Avenue. Another item on the “to-do” list is to scope out subcontractors and construction workers that can make this dream happen. The public hearing will take place on January 22nd with the City of Detroit Department of Public Works to finalize the project.

In my opinion, I think the way to make this transportation service the most effective that it could be is to increase the range from point A to point B, to make it from Point A to point G. Meaning, a rail system that stretches from the center of Detroit heading North on Woodward Avenue until Pontiac. This will make the rail system more useful for commuters heading from the suburbs down to Detroit. M-1 rail will give residents the option to use a new method of transportation and a chance to be involved with the Detroit Movement.
